My name is Rich Spalding and I’ve been playing the guitar for the last eight years. Everyone use to crack jokes at me
whenever I sat down to play my guitar. All I ever wanted to do was to be able to play my favorite songs on the guitar,
but when I did it sound like two chickens fighting. Today when I play, people stop what they are doing and listen.
One day my nephew came to me and told me he wanted to learn how to play the guitar. He asked what I thought was
the fastest and easiest way for him to learn how to play the guitar was.
What I told him I want to share with you.
The largest problem that most people have, including my nephew, is they do not know where to go when it comes to
learning how to play the guitar. You've got many options to choose from including on-line lessons, private lessons,
and DVDs. They do not have to know which are good and which are bad.
I believe that the best guitar lessons for beginners is through online video lessons. After trying everything there was
available, I found this to be the easiest way for me to learn how to play the guitar.
I believe that the private lesson system is flawed. The major problem associated with private lessons is what is known
as lesson retention, which is when the student forgets what they learned from one week to the next. Ultimately, this
will affect the student's self-esteem and progress as well as their motivation.
The great thing with on-line lessons is that you can review the lesson as many times as you would like.
A huge advantage for individuals is that with the on-line guitar lessons they can take a lesson any hour of the day or
night. From the comfort of home, individuals can access their lessons at any time on any day of the week.
With private lessons, individuals are required to schedule based on the instructors time frame and travel to their
location. The private instructor also tends to charge for missed lesson appointments due to scheduling conflicts.
Students do not lose time traveling back and forth to the instructor's location and don't have that extra travel expense
either with on-line guitar lessons. When I was studying with a private instructor, I had to travel twenty-five miles each
day I had a lesson, which took over an hour of my leisure time, that was precious to me. With the creation of on-line
video guitar lessons, that is no longer a problem.
It can be difficult relating to private instructors at times when taking private lessons. Whenever I felt it was time to
change my instructors I went through the anguish of having to tell them I no longer wanted to take lessons from them.
It never failed that when I changed instructors that my stomach would react by becoming upset.
However, you do not have to worry about anxiety attacks when taking on-line guitar lessons. If you don’t relate to the
instructor, you can simply change to an new series of online videos from another instructor. It is not only easy to do,
but it is also quite painless.
On-line guitar lessons for beginners are a lot less expensive than private lessons or purchasing DVDs.. It is not
unusual for you to find that you can save between 75 – 80% of the cost of what private lessons would cost.
As a parent, there will be no need to drive your child to their private guitar lesson, which mean you not only save time,
but travel expenses as well.
Today, a year and a half later, my nephew is an incredible guitar player and can master any song in just minutes. Just
think within three months you could be an accomplished guitar player, which is what you have always dreamed of
being. And, it was fun learning and not nearly as difficult to achieve as you first expected.
Over the years, online video guitar lessons have helped people just like you and me learn to play any guitar song in
just a couple of months.
